HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES
Now that the 19-20 school year is officially over, we are beginning to turn our eyes to the future. With our Covid-19 “curve” well flattened in NJ, Governor Murphy announces encouraging news each day of openings across the state. On Friday, May 29, he announced that daycare centers would be able to open on June 15, with stringent health and safety guidelines in place. Based on these guidelines, as well as previously released guidelines by the CDC, CPNS has developed a plan for opening in September that will allow families and staff alike to feel safe at CPNS. As this is an ever evolving situation, these guidelines may change by September. However, we are committed to ensuring that we follow whatever the most current guidelines are. I have attached a short video for you to watch regarding these increased health and safety measures. Please take a moment to watch it and let me know if you have any questions, concerns or ideas for keeping CPNS safe and healthy.

POLICY ON EXTENDED EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSURE
In addition to increased health and safety measures, the CPNS Board has been working very hard to create new policies for next year that will help families feel financially protected in the event of an extended school closure. The new policies are as follows:
After 2 weeks of emergency closure, tuition payments will be suspended. If you wish to make a tax deductible donation to CPNS during closure, please contact the Director.
In the event that an extended emergency closure occurs after tuition is paid in full for the year, a refund will be given for the duration of the closure, after the first two weeks of closure. Refunds will be credited to accounts at the end of the emergency closure. Refund checks will be sent out within a week of the end of the emergency school closure.
Virtual options will be considered for interested families on an opt-in basis.
PARTNERSHIP WITH CRANBURY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
CPNS and the Church have worked together for years to maintain a wonderful school experience for preschool students from Cranbury and surrounding areas. In response to the unprecedented times that our school, the church and our families are facing, CPNS and Cranbury Presbyterian Church have developed a CPNS Strategic Advisory Team. This team consists of church and school leaders as well as church, staff and board members who will discuss challenges facing our school during this pandemic and beyond. The support from the Church will allow us to continue to prepare to carry CPNS into the future in a safe and collaborative way!
There are so many things to process and consider for the 20/21 school year. But, one thing is certain, CPNS is doing and will continue to do everything in our power to protect our staff, students and families. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact me at cpns@cranburycpns.org.
Sincerely,
Jessica Corriveau
CPNS Director
